Sofia CrossSwords 2022
In the autumn of 2022 we held the first ever Bulgarian HEMA tournament event, Sofia CrossSwords 2022. We prepared two very special tournaments in two days - a familiar ruleset, but unique formats and weapons.
We begun with the classic Longsword competition on Saturday, but with a twist - no matter ones skill and luck, no one went back home with just a couple of fights. Each participant had at least 9 matches and had the privilege to judge just as many. And on Sunday, we provided all participants with the chance to compete with the SIGI Arming swords in the first of its kind single Аrming sword tournament.
Fencers competed in one or both tourneys, and there was free sparring space on Sunday.
