Sofia CrossSwords 2023

This year's Sofia CrossSwords was during the first weekend of November - 04-05.11.2023 at Triaditsa Sports Hall.

The competitions were:

Saturday, 04.11.2023

1. Ladies Longsword (bring your own weapon) - 11 fencers

2. Open Longsword (bring your own weapon) - 40 fencers

Sunday, 05.11.2023

1. Ladies arming sword (provided weapon) - 8 fencers

2. Open arming sword (provided weapon) - 30 fencers

3. Open arming sword and buckler (provided weapons) - 20 fencers.

Overall organisation regarding Open Longsword was similar to last year - groups judging each other. No matter fencer’s skill and luck, everyone got back home with at least 9 matches and had the privilege to judge just as many.

For the Arming sword and Sword and Buckler competitions, we provided all participants with the chance to compete with the SIGI Arming swords in single Аrming sword tournaments and an Arming sword and buckler.

Men participated in the Open competitions while Women could join both those and the Ladies categories.

There was some limited space for freeplay in the hall so fencer enjoyed some additional sparring outside the competition.

We also had audience in the hall as a way to present our sport to a wider audience.
